Call Of Duty: Warzone’s Nail Gun Is Finally Being Nerfed

With the release of Warzone Season 4, we saw the introduction of a new weapon: the Nail Gun and it’s safe to say, it was pretty overpowered. If you have played any Warzone during Season 4, then no doubt you would have seen it in action for yourself.

It didn’t take long for Warzone players to take to social media to express their thoughts on the new weapon and request for it to be nerfed as soon as possible. Fortunately, Raven Software have acknowledged the players’ feedback and are making some drastic changes to the weapon. From the patch notes for the next Warzone update, the following changes will be made to the Nail Gun:

Submachine Guns

Nail Gun (BOCW)

  • Maximum Damage range decreased by 39%

Alongside this, Raven Software explained the purpose behind the Nail Gun’s introduction to the battle royale.

“The Nail Gun (BOCW) is and was meant to be a lethal, highly-mobile, short-range dominator. However, its Maximum Damage range far exceeded the lethal range of Shotguns, which it is intended to contest. The Nail Gun’s (BOCW) generous range and mobility allowed it to consistently dispatch foes at the same speed or faster than Shotguns at almost twice their effective range. While the Nail Gun’s (BOCW) pick rate has remained relatively low, we believe it would have been much higher were it more easily accessible.”

Not only will the small update bring changes to the Nail Gun, it will also bring changes to several other in-game items too, such as the C58, the Fara 83 and also some attachments. The full patch notes can be seen in the tweet below:

Initially, the update for these changes was actually released on June 30, however after going live, Raven Software identified some issues and have had to revert the udpate. Once the issues are fixed, then the update will be re-released into Warzone. Raven Software have not given an ETA for the update to come back out, however, we expect it won’t be more than a few days’ time.
